Good2GO! Training includes 4 x 3.5-hour workshops on different age-friendly light physical activities and games, delivered over 4-weeks with 1 workshop per week.
Workshop 1: Short Slots For Fitness : explores short movement routines designed to enhance key components of functionsal fitness including mobility, flexibility, balance, strength and aerobic fitness.This will include seated routines.
Workshop 2: Step To The Beat : explores a series of short, simple, social folk dance from different parts of the world. Easy to learn-easy to teach.
Workshop 3: Social Target Games : explores a number of simple, sociable, target games suitable for indoor venues (e.g. Frisbee, Scooch, Boccia, Flisk).
Workshop 4: Activator Poles : explores the use of activator poles – aimed at providing stability support and enhancing the benefits of walking or exercise, especially for those with any mobility impairments.
Each workshop will take place in Mount Temple Community Hall on dates of Monday September 21, 28, October 5, 12. From 10am – 1.30pm each day (including a tea break provided during the workshop).
The workshops will be of interest to anyone who takes (or is willing to take) a lead role in organising, delivering or facilitating physical activity for older adults and adults with a disability (e.g., Active Retirement Groups, Men’s/Women’s Sheds, Countrywomen’s Associations, Disability Services).
