The September edition of the Westmeath Sports Partnership e-newsletter is packed with updates on a busy month of activities and exciting opportunities to get involved. From social camogie and tai chi to stand-up paddleboarding, HER Outdoors Week was a huge success, with many participants enjoying the beautiful weather and the chance to get active outdoors.
New Programmes and Initiatives
Westmeath Sports Partnership’s Community Sports Hubs are launching four new programmes this September, including:
- Maroon Lakers: A physical activity group for children with additional needs.
- Pilates Classes: A mixed class and a ladies-only class are available in Castletown Geoghegan. A postnatal Pilates class for mothers and babies is also offered in Athlone.
- Line Dancing: A new six-week programme for all abilities.
Employment
Westmeath Sports Partnership is seeking to hire an ESF+ Social Innovation in Sport Officer. The deadline to apply is Friday, September 12, 2025, at 4 p.m..
We also have updates on a successful kayak programme for people with disabilities, a new €119,000 Dormant Accounts Funding investment in local projects, and the upcoming European Week of Sport from September 23-30.
