SUMMARY:Paddlesports Camps For Youths - Athlone
DESCRIPTION:This camp is aimed at introducing young people aged 12-15 to paddlesports (paddleboarding and kayaking) in a supportive and fun environment. This week-long camp (5 sessions) will take place on Monday July 15th to Friday July 19th\, from 10am-12pm each day. \n\n\n\nCost of registration is €25 (there is extremely high demand for these courses so please only register if participant can attend minimum of 4 sessions). \n\n\n\nParticipants do not need to be a strong swimmer to participate in this course but you should feel comfortable in water with a buoyancy aid. \n\n\n\nAs there will be limited changing facilities\, please wear swimwear under clothing on arrival. Wetsuits are available to use but if you have your own you can use this. All other equipment will also be provided including paddleboards/kayaks\, buoyancy aids\, helmets\, paddles etc. Please ensure you bring old footwear to wear into water\, a towel\, a drink and sun cream if sunny. \n\n\n\nAll sessions will take place at Coosan Point Athlone\, unless notified otherwise by the instructor or Westmeath Sports Partnership. SUMMARY:Safeguarding 1 – Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness
DESCRIPTION:All Coaches\, Club Children’s Officers (CCO) and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop.  \nThis workshop educates participants on the implementation of best practice in safeguarding the welfare of children involved in sport. \nThe online Safeguarding 1 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have : \nGood internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion. \nAccess to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF. \nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course. \nPlease beware : \n\nThis course is for Over 18’s ONLY – MAXIMUM 2 persons per club/sports organisation.\n\n  \n\nEach participant must have their own individual Zoom connection. Sharing connections is not an acceptable method of participating.\n\nThe online course will be delivered between 6.30pm -9.30pm via Zoom. Certificates of completion will be issued by post and participant details are subsequently registered with Sport Ireland’s National Database.
