SUMMARY:good2Go Training - Mount Temple
DESCRIPTION:Good2GO! WESTMEATH is designed to enable attendees’ plan and lead periods of sociable\, health-enhancing physical activity for older adults and adults with a disability.\nIt is suitable for: Active Age Groups\, Men’s Sheds\, Care Providers and Disability Service Providers. \nGood2Go! classes will take place at  Mount Temple Community Hall\, Mount Temple Village. \nThe workshops are three hours in duration from 10am until 1pm. \nThe classes will include training on the following activities: \nShort slots for Fitness explores short movement routines designed to enhance key components of functional fitness including mobility\, flexibility\, balance\, strength and aerobic fitness. This will include seated routines. \nStep to the Beat explores a series of short\, simple\, social folk dance from different parts of the world. Easy to learn-easy to teach. \nSocial target Games explores a number of simple\, sociable\, target games suitable for indoor venues ( e.g. Frisbee\, Scooch\, Boccia\, Flisk). \nAttendee’s must be able to attend all 3 workshops. Light Refreshments will be provided on each day / Please wear suitable footwear and comfortable/sports clothing. \nA tea break will be provided during the workshop. \nThe course is free as it is kindly funded and supported by Healthy Ireland and Healthy Westmeath. (Participants will be required to complete a short pre and post-programme questionnaire regarding their physical activity levels). The pre questionnaire is built into registration. \nAll 3 workshops will be held in Mount Temple Community Hall on the 20th\, 27th November and 04th December from 10a.m sharp to 1.00p.m. \nA tea break will be provided during each workshop. \nRegister for Mount Temple here

DESCRIPTION:Westmeath Sports Partnership is pleased to collaborate with Cycling Ireland to facilitate the delivery of the one-day assessed Ride Leader Award. \n\nWhere: Westmeath County Council Buildings\nWhen: Saturday 25th November 2023\nTime: 9am – 5.30pm\nCost: Free for current Westmeath Sports Partnership tutor panel / €20 for Cycling Ireland member / €30 for non-Cycling Ireland member\nFormat: Theory in a training room combined with practical element outside.\nWhat you need: working bicycle and helmet\, comfortable/suitable clothing and footwear\, notepad\, pen\, water/drink\, food/snacks/lunch.\n\nThe Cycling Ireland Ride Leader Award aims to provide an introduction to cycle leading and the competencies required to lead and manage groups on a cycle. Cycling Ireland Ride Leader training will provide leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively lead and manage a group of cyclists on the road in club/group rides. \nThe course will explore the roles and responsibilities the Ride Leader will assume and prepare learners as Ride Leaders to provide safe and enjoyable cycling experiences for people of all levels of ability and age. \nThis course is open to Westmeath Sports Partnership tutors\, members of Westmeath cycling clubs or any keen cyclist with an interest in becoming a ride leader. On completion of the course\, certified ride leaders will have the possibility to facilitate Club Ride(s) and/or Group Ride(s) within the community or with the Westmeath Sports Partnership in a volunteer or potentially paid tutor capacity. \nPlease note places are limited and will be offered on a first come basis.
