SUMMARY:Safeguarding 1 –  Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness
DESCRIPTION:All Coaches\, Club Children’s Officers (CCO) and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop.  \n\n\n\nThis workshop educates participants on the implementation of best practice in safeguarding the welfare of children involved in sport. \n\n\n\nThe online Safeguarding 1 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have: \n\n\n\n\nGood internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion.\n\n\n\nAccess to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF.\n\n\n\nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course.\n\n\n\n\nPlease beware : \n\n\n\n\nThis course is for Over 18’s ONLY – MAXIMUM 2 persons per club/sports organisation.\n\n\n\nEach participant must have their own individual Zoom connection. SUMMARY:Safeguarding 2 – Club Children’s Officer
DESCRIPTION:A person appointed to the role of Club Children’s Officer within a club must have firstly completed Sport Ireland’s Safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness workshop). \n\n\n\nThey should also complete Sport Irelands Club Children’s Officer 3 hour workshop. The aim of this workshop is to help the Club Children’s Officer to carry out their role and support the implementation of best practice in the club.
