SUMMARY:Safeguarding 1 - Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop
DESCRIPTION:All Coaches\, Club Children’s Officers (CCO) and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop.  \nThis workshop educates participants on the implementation of best practice in safeguarding the welfare of children involved in sport. \nThe online Safeguarding 1 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have : \nGood internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion. \nAccess to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF. \nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course. \nPlease beware : \n\nThis course is for Over 18’s ONLY – MAXIMUM 2 persons per club/sports organisation.\n\n  \n\nEach participant must have their own individual Zoom connection. DESCRIPTION:Join us this Halloween Mid Term as Westmeath Sports Partnership provides a Come and Try Orienteering session at Dún Na Sí Amenity Park in Moate. \n\n\n\n\nDún Na Sí Amenity Park\, Moate (Eircode: N37 P271)\n\n\n\nWednesday 30th October 2024\n\n\n\n12.30pm – 2.30pm\n\n\n\nSuitable for adults and kids aged 7+\n\n\n\nSuitable to take part individually or as a family/group\n\n\n\n€5 per registration (If you are attending as a family or group of 2 people or more\, just one person needs to register. You will be asked at registration how many are in your family/group)\n\n\n\nFree car parking\n\n\n\n\nOrienteering is a very accessible activity for any age or ability that combines physical activity with navigation\, challenging both the body and the mind. \n\n\n\nA trained tutor will be on hand to guide you through a warm-up orienteering activity (the maze!)\, and then you will have the opportunity to try out standard orienteering using MapRun6 (with accessible courses available) and also Photo Orienteering (suitable for younger kids or those with additional needs). \n\n\n\nMapRun: MapRun is a FREE orienteering application available from your app store that gives access to the maps on your mobile device. \n\n\n\n\nWe will have hard copy maps but for your enjoyment\, we strongly recommend downloading this app too if attending.\n\n\n\n\nFor any queries on this event please contact cian.fogarty@westmeathcoco.ie
