SUMMARY:good2Go Training - Mount Temple
DESCRIPTION:Good2GO! WESTMEATH is designed to enable attendees’ plan and lead periods of sociable\, health-enhancing physical activity for older adults and adults with a disability.\nIt is suitable for: Active Age Groups\, Men’s Sheds\, Care Providers and Disability Service Providers. \nGood2Go! classes will take place at  Mount Temple Community Hall\, Mount Temple Village. \nThe workshops are three hours in duration from 10am until 1pm. \nThe classes will include training on the following activities: \nShort slots for Fitness explores short movement routines designed to enhance key components of functional fitness including mobility\, flexibility\, balance\, strength and aerobic fitness. This will include seated routines. \nStep to the Beat explores a series of short\, simple\, social folk dance from different parts of the world. Easy to learn-easy to teach. \nSocial target Games explores a number of simple\, sociable\, target games suitable for indoor venues ( e.g. Frisbee\, Scooch\, Boccia\, Flisk). \nAttendee’s must be able to attend all 3 workshops. Light Refreshments will be provided on each day / Please wear suitable footwear and comfortable/sports clothing. \nA tea break will be provided during the workshop. \nThe course is free as it is kindly funded and supported by Healthy Ireland and Healthy Westmeath. (Participants will be required to complete a short pre and post-programme questionnaire regarding their physical activity levels). The pre questionnaire is built into registration. \nAll 3 workshops will be held in Mount Temple Community Hall on the 20th\, 27th November and 04th December from 10a.m sharp to 1.00p.m. \nA tea break will be provided during each workshop. \nRegister for Mount Temple here

DESCRIPTION:Safeguarding 2 – Club Children’s Officer  \nA person appointed to the role of Club Children’s Officer within a club must have firstly completed Sport Irelands Safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness workshop). \nThey should also complete Sport Irelands Club Children’s Officer 3 hour workshop. The aim of this workshop is to help the Club Children’s Officer to carry out their role and support the implementation of best practice in the club. Participants will also receive a Club Children’s Officer Action Planning document as part of the training. \nThe online Safeguarding 2 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have : \n\nGood internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion\nAccess to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF.\n\n\nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course\n\nPlease beware : \n\nThis course is for Over 18’s ONLY – MAXIMUM 2 persons per club/sports organisation\n\n\nEach participant must have their own individual Zoom connection. DESCRIPTION:Westmeath County Council  welcomes Operation Transformation to the beautiful Lake County.  \nWe are proud to support our diverse communities by providing opportunities for healthy living\, sporting and physical activities.  \nWestmeath\, in the centre of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands\, is the ideal destination for outdoor activity and adventure with nearly 100km of scenic greenways\, along with woodland walks and our wonderful lakes. \nEach week the five leaders will have their Health Check-In at St James Hall in Kilbeggan.  \nIn partnership with Westmeath County Council\, the county will host seven weekly Ad Break Challenges where Karl Henry gets groups from across the county moving\, as well as the audience at home.   \nThe first Ad Break Challenge will take place on Thursday 28th December 2023 at 7pm in Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Club.
