SUMMARY:Come And Try Orienteering
DESCRIPTION:This August\, Westmeath Sports Partnership is providing the opportunity to come and try orienteering! \n\n\n\n\nAthlone Regional Sports Centre\n\n\n\nWednesday 14th August\n\n\n\n12.30pm – 2.30pm.\n\n\n\n€5 per family/group (refunded upon attendance)\n\n\n\nSuitable for all aged 7+\n\n\n\n\nA trained tutor will be on hand to guide you through a warm-up orienteering activity (the maze!)\, and then you will have the opportunity to try out standard orienteering using MapRun6 (with accessible courses available) and also Photo Orienteering (suitable for younger kids or those with additional needs). \n\n\n\nOrienteering is a sport that combines physical activity with navigation\, challenging both the body and the mind. It is a sport that can be enjoyed by groups of families\, friends\, or as individuals and is very accessible for all ages and abilities. \n\n\n\nIf you are attending as a family or group\, just one member needs to register; however\, you will be asked how many is within your family or group. \n\n\n\nMapRun: MapRun is a FREE orienteering application available on Android/Apple that gives access to the maps on your mobile device. \n\n\n\n\nWe recommend downloading this if attending.\n\n\n\n\nFor any queries on this event please contact cian.fogarty@westmeathcoco.ie
