SUMMARY:Safeguarding 3 - Designated Liaison Person
DESCRIPTION:A person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must firstly complete Sport Ireland’s Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop\, and should complete the Sport Irelands Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. \n\n\n\nA club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions\, however\, best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles. \n\n\n\nThe online Safeguarding 3 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have : \n\n\n\n*Good internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion. \n\n\n\n*Access to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF. \n\n\n\nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course. \n\n\n\nPlease beware : \n\n\n\nThis course is for Over 18s ONLY – MAXIMUM 2 persons per club/sports organisation. \n\n\n\nEach participant must have their own individual Zoom connection. Sharing connections is not an acceptable method of participating. \n\n\n\nThe online course will be delivered between 6.30pm -9.30pm via Zoom. \n\n\n\nCertificates of completion will be issued by post and participant details are subsequently registered with Sport Ireland’s National Database. \n\n\n\nShould you require any further information on accessing the online safeguarding course feel free to contact Westmeath Sports Partnership on 044 93 90208 or email info@westmeathsports.ie.
