SUMMARY:Safeguarding 2 – Club Children’s Officer
DESCRIPTION:A person appointed to the role of Club Children’s Officer within a club must have firstly completed Sport Ireland’s Safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness workshop). \n\n\n\nThey should also complete Sport Irelands Club Children’s Officer 3 hour workshop. The aim of this workshop is to help the Club Children’s Officer to carry out their role and support the implementation of best practice in the club. Participants will also receive a Club Children’s Officer Action Planning document as part of the training. \n\n\n\nThe online Safeguarding 2 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have: \n\n\n\n\nGood internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion.\n\n\n\nAccess to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF.\n\n\n\nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course.\n\n\n\n\nPlease beware : \n\n\n\n\nThis course is for Over 18s ONLY – MAXIMUM 2 persons per club/sports organisation.\n\n\n\nEach participant must have their own individual Zoom connection. Sharing connections is not an acceptable method of participating.\n\n\n\n\nThe online course will be delivered between 6.30pm -9.30pm via Zoom. \n\n\n\nCertificates of completion will be issued by post and participant details are subsequently registered with Sport Ireland’s National Database. \n\n\n\nShould you require any further information on accessing the online safeguarding course feel free to contact Westmeath Sports Partnership on 044 93 90208 or email info@westmeathsports.ie.
