SUMMARY:MenoWell Westmeath
DESCRIPTION:MenoWell Westmeath’ is a FREE 6-week online evidence-based exercise\, nutrition\, and health education programme promoting wellness for women in all stages of adult life. This programme is designed to support\, educate\, and empower women in preparation for changes in midlife\, for women experiencing the menopausal transition\, and for supporting women in life after menopause. \n\n\n\nThis programme is starting on Tuesday 29th April 2025 at 8:20pm\, and is aimed at women living in County Westmeath.  \n\n\n\n\n\nProgramme Overview: \n\n\n\n\n2 * 40-minute live online women- and menopause-specific multimodal exercise classes per week – Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:20pm.\n\n\n\n1 * 30-minute live online women- and menopause-specific health education masterclass per week – Wednesdays at 1pm. Please note\, these are recorded. \n\n\n\nThe health education masterclasses are supplemented with take-home resources including infographics summarising the masterclasses and nutrition recipes. \n\n\n\nAn on-demand library of women- and menopause-specific exercise videos and recorded health education workshops.\n\n\n\n\nThe 40-minute live online exercise classes are instructed in real-time and include a suitable warm up and cool down. These multimodal exercise classes improve your cardiorespiratory fitness\, muscle strength and endurance\, balance\, and flexibility all within the one class! All exercise classes are designed by clinical exercise physiologists specifically for women of all ages and all fitness abilities\, including those living with clinical conditions. The exercise videos included in the on-demand library can be performed at a time and a place most suitable to you\, making it as easy as possible for you to be as fit and as healthy as possible\, anytime\, anywhere. \n\n\n\nThe 30-minute health education masterclasses are delivered by experts via Zoom and focus on different topics relating to women’s health and the menopause journey including muscle\, bone\, and cardiovascular health\, healthy nutrition\, sleep hygiene and self-care. These are recorded so you can watch them back at any time throughout the 6-week programme. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, you will be asked to complete various short-answer questionnaires during this sign-up form and the end of the programme to determine any changes in physical activity participation\, menopausal symptoms (if applicable)\, and wellbeing following the programme. SUMMARY:Lads And Dads Kayaking - Mullingar
DESCRIPTION:This four-week introductory kayaking course for Lads & Dads will take place in Lough Owel\, Mullingar from 7.00pm – 9.00pm on Thursdays\, August 22nd\, 29th\, September 5th\, 12th \n\n\n\nThis course is for males aged 18+ who want to learn kayaking and paddle skills in a relaxed\, social and fun environment. The aim is for participants to be introduced to a new water-based activity within the beautiful outdoors\, while also gaining a Canoe Ireland Level One kayaking skills certification. \n\n\n\nCost of registration is €50 but participants will be refunded €5 per session attended. \n\n\n\n(Refunded amounts will be distributed via the same method of payment at the conclusion of the programme. These courses have extremely high demand so this is to encourage those who are lucky enough to get a place\, to turn up the sessions). \n\n\n\nYou do not need to be a strong swimmer to participate in this course but you should feel comfortable in water with a buoyancy aid. \n\n\n\nAs there will be limited changing facilities\, please wear swimwear under clothing on arrival. Wetsuits are available to use but if you have your own you can use this. All equipment provided including kayaks\, buoyancy aids\, helmets\, paddles etc. Please ensure you bring old footwear to wear into the water\, and a towel\, a drink and sun cream if sunny. \n\n\n\nMeeting point will be the Car Park at Lough Owel beside Mullingar Sailing Club and all sessions will take place here\, unless notified otherwise by the instructor or Westmeath Sports Partnership. \n\n\n\nThis course is kindly funded and supported by Healthy Ireland and Healthy Westmeath. Participants will be required to complete a short pre and post programme questionnaire to take part in this course. \n\n\n\nF or any further detail please contact cian.fogarty@westmeathcoco.ie
