DESCRIPTION:Westmeath Sports Partnership is delighted to support the FAI and Raharney United AFC in providing a ‘Football 4 All’ club programme for children with disabilities.\nThe FFA Club Programme gives players with disabilities from the age of 6 upwards the opportunity to attend regular football training through a local FAI Club in the community. \nThe programme is suitable for children with a disability from age 6 years upwards. \nThe program will take place at the grounds of Raharney United F.C for a six-week term starting on November 5th. The programme takes place between 11am and 12pm. \nThe registration fee is €20 (covers participant for year – block 2/3 to follow Christmas (2 x 10-week blocks\, dates TBC). \nCost per session: €5 per participant with discount for siblings and payments to be made online via clubzap. DESCRIPTION:**This event is now sold out** (If you wish to add your name to the waiting list\, please click the Eventbrite link below) \n\n\nTo celebrate Halloween 2023\, Westmeath Sports Partnership invites you to the Hill of Uisneach to explore the sacred centre of Ireland\, and immerse yourself in the culture\, the history and mythology of Uisneach.\nThe event takes place on Saturday 28th October 2023\, beginning at 12pm. The walk/tour will last approximately 1.5 hours. The distance is around 3km in total\, and although is easy/moderate\, it could possibly involve some rugged ground so some level of fitness will be required. \nPlease ensure appropriate footwear and clothing are worn as the walk will go ahead in most weather conditions\, unless there is a weather warning. \nThe walk will be led by expert guides with some highlights including; the Royal Palace\, Lough Lugh\, St Patrick’s Bed (The Summit) and Ail na Mireann (Stone of the Divisions). \nThe cost per adult or youth aged over 12 is €5. DESCRIPTION:Good2GO! WESTMEATH is designed to enable attendees’ plan and lead periods of sociable\, health-enhancing physical activity for older adults and adults with a disability.\n \nIt is suitable for: Active Age Groups\, Men’s Sheds\, Care Providers and Disability Service Providers. \n \nGood2Go! classes will take place  Loughegar Community Hall – Clonkill GAA Club. \n \nThe workshops are three hours in duration from 10am until 1pm. \n \nThe classes will include training on the following activities: \n \nShort slots for Fitness explores short movement routines designed to enhance key components of functional fitness including mobility\, flexibility\, balance\, strength and aerobic fitness. This will include seated routines. \n \nStep to the Beat explores a series of short\, simple\, social folk dance from different parts of the world. Easy to learn-easy to teach. \n \nSocial target Games explores a number of simple\, sociable\, target games suitable for indoor venues ( e.g. Frisbee\, Scooch\, Boccia\, Flisk). \n \nAttendee’s must be able to attend all 3 workshops. Light Refreshments will be provided on each day / Please wear suitable footwear and comfortable/sports clothing. \n \nA tea break will be provided during the workshop. \n \nThe course is free as it is kindly funded and supported by Healthy Ireland and Healthy Westmeath. (Participants will be required to complete a short pre and post-programme questionnaire regarding their physical activity levels).
