SUMMARY:Lads on the Lake - Mullingar
DESCRIPTION:This Programme Is Now SOLD OUT!\n\n\n\nThis four-week Lads on the Lake introductory kayaking course will take place at Lough Derravaragh from 7.00pm – 9.00pm on Thursdays July 3\, 10\, 17\, 24. \n\n\n\nThis course is aimed at males aged 18+ who want to learn kayaking and paddle skills in a relaxed\, social and inclusive environment. Participants who complete this course will gain the Canoe Ireland Level 1 in Kayaking Skills certification. \n\n\n\nCost of registration is €50 but participants will be refunded €5 per session attended (** see note below). \n\n\n\nYou do not need to be a strong swimmer to participate in this course but you should feel comfortable in water with a buoyancy aid. \n\n\n\nAs there will be limited changing facilities\, we advise arriving as ready to go as possible. Wetsuits are available to use but if you have your own you can use this. All other safety equipment will also be provided including buoyancy aids\, helmets\, paddles etc. Please ensure you bring old footwear to wear into the water\, a towel\, a drink and sun cream if sunny. \n\n\n\nMeeting point will be the Car Park beside Lough Derravaragh Camping Site. If there is a location change\, you will be notified via the instructor or Westmeath Sports Partnership. Sessions may be postponed if adverse weather conditions and if this happens you will be notified and we will endeavor to rearrange. \n\n\n\n** Refunded amounts will be distributed via the same method of payment at the conclusion of the programme. These courses have extremely high demand so this is to encourage those who are lucky enough to get a place\, to turn up the sessions. DESCRIPTION:Guaranteed Fun\n\n\n\nWestmeath Sports Partnership and Midlands LGBT+ are collaborating to offer members living in Westmeath the opportunity to experience the thrill of Kayaking on Lough Owel this summer! \n\n\n\n\nLough Owel\n\n\n\n\n\nMeeting point at car park beside Mullingar Sailing Club\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday July 24th\n\n\n\n\n\n7.00 – 9.00pm\n\n\n\n\n\nOpen to members of Midlands LGBT+ community living in Westmeath\n\n\n\n\n\nMinimum age 18 years old\n\n\n\n\n\n€10 per person\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease dress appropriately but gear and equipment will be available including wetsuits\, buoyancy aid\, paddles\, kayaks\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a beginner friendly introductory session\n\n\n\n\n\nYou do not need to be a strong swimmer to participate in this course but you should feel comfortable in water with a buoyancy aid.\n\n\n\n\n\nSpaces are limited\, if sold out please join the waiting list in case a space becomes available\n\n\n\n\nPlease note: session will be weather dependent and may be postponed if adverse conditions.
