Something For Everyone

Four new exciting programmes are due to begin in September at Community Sports Hubs in Co. Westmeath; Athlone Community Sports Hub, based at Athlone Regional Sports Centre, and the Castletown Geoghegan Community Sports Hub.

Get ready for the autumn with the inclusive programmes designed for everyone, from mothers and babies; ladies only and mixed Pilates; physical activity classes for children and teens with additional needs and line dancing enthusiasts at our Community Sports Hubs.

Line Dancing at Athlone CSH

Step into rhythm and boost your fitness with our brand-new Line Dancing programme! Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, you’ll love this fun, social way to get moving.

  • When: Wednesdays, 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM
  • Duration: 6 weeks, from September 10th to October 15th
  • Cost: €30 for the full 6-week programme
  • Who it’s for: All abilities welcome!

Maroon Lakers At Athlone CSH

The Maroon Lakers programme is a dedicated physical activity group for children with additional needs, offering a supportive and fun environment. This 6-week programme is tailored to help children get active and engage with their peers.

  • When: Saturdays at Athlone Community Sports Hub
    • Primary School Age: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    • Secondary School Age: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Duration: 6 weeks, from September 13th to October 18th
  • Cost: €30 for the full 6-week programme
  • Who it’s for: Children with additional needs, separated into primary and secondary school age groups.

Mother and Baby Pilates At Athlone CSH

Reconnect with your body, bond with your baby, and meet a community of mothers just like you. This postnatal pilates class is a gentle yet effective way for new mothers to get back into exercise. Hosted in partnership with Miri & Fit, the programme is specifically designed for mothers with babies up to 6 months old.

  • When: Wednesdays, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
  • Duration: 6 weeks, from September 10th to October 15th
  • Cost: €20 for the full 6-week programme
  • Who it’s for: Mothers and babies up to 6 months old.

Pilates For All At Castletown Geoghegan CSH

Get fit and relax as part of new programme starting in Castletown Geoghegan Sports Hub in September.

  • Women only classes are starting on Thursday September 04 from 11.00am – 12.00pm
  • Mixed classes take place on Fridays starting September 05 from 7.00pm – 8.00pm

Other Activities At The Community Sports Hubs

There are also a wide range of other activities for people to get involved with at the Athlone Community Sports Hub and Castletown Geoghegan Community Sports Hub.

In Athlone, coordinator Joanne has a comprehensive schedule of activities for people to enjoy every week, and if it’s your first time, then we guarantee you will be given a very warm welcome.

Activities at Castletown Geoghegan CSH

We also have a new hub in Castletown Geoghegan which has a wide range of activities for the local community to get involved with.

One of their most popular is social camogie, which takes place each Thursday for women of all abilities age 25+.

Social Walking also takes place on Tuesdays between 10.00am and 11.00am.
