Annual Report 2023

Westmeath Sports Partnership is delighted to present its 2023 Annual Report.

The report contains details of the hundreds of people who enjoyed community, outdoors and sports inclusion programmes supported and organised by Westmeath Sports Partnership (WSP) staff.

2023 was a year full of achievements by the Sports Partnership with activities taking place in all corners of the county.

The report contains a detailed breakdown of funding sources for WSP, and the many organisations and bodies which staff interact with and co-operate with to develop courses, training and physical activity opportunities.

There are also detailed reports from the relevant Development Officers in the Community, Sports Inclusion and Outdoor Development sections as well as a end of year wrap-up from the Administrator and Communications Officer.

The Annual Report also contains details of events such as Bike Week, Well Westmeath, Her Outdoors Week and the many and varied grants and supports provided top sports clubs and community organisations in 2023.

Anthony Wheat, Coordinator of Westmeath Sports Partnership, says the report gives a great sense of the work being carried out across the county,

“I’m very proud of the work that has taken place in 2023 providing more physical activity opportunities to so many groups and communities across County Westmeath through the Sports Partnership. We’re here to assist and support as more people to get more active more often, and we look forward to continuing that work in 2024 with the support of Sport Ireland and Westmeath County Council.”

You can read the full report here, and previous reports are available in the ‘About Us‘ section of the Sports Partnership website.
