New Recreational Strategy for Westmeath – Public Meetings on Wednesday 6th March in Bloomfield & Thursday 7th March Shamrock Lodge

New Recreational Strategy for Westmeath

Westmeath Community Development, Westmeath Sports Partnership & Westmeath County Council are currently preparing the first strategic plan for the promotion of recreation in the county. The Recreational Plan aims to link Westmeath’s recreational infrastructure with local communities and businesses through identifying actions/ initiatives to promote the use of these recreational facilities.

SLR Consulting have been appointed to formulate the new Westmeath Recreational Strategy over the coming months.

Outdoor enthusiasts, activity providers, local clubs and organisations with a passion and interest for Outdoor Recreation are invited to attend one of the public consultation meetings to help shape the Recreational plan. Meetings will be held in the Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar on Wednesday 6th of March at 6.30pm and in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel in Athlone on 7th March at 6.30pm.

Your input is an essential part of this process as we look to gather views on the current provision for Outdoor Recreation, and identify opportunities for future development.

This project is being funded by Westmeath Local Community Development Committee, the Department of Rural and Community Development and the LEADER 2014-2020 Programme.
