The fourth round of the Midlands Boccia League took place on Tuesday, March 6th in Athlone Institute of Technology. Twenty one teams from both Westmeath and Offaly gathered on the courts from early morning in a final attempt to accumulate extra points to reach the top of their division.

Each Westmeath organisation was represented by three teams in total. The National Learning Network Mullingar was represented by Pink Ladies, Flem and D’unbelievables, St. Hilda’s Athlone was represented by Tigers, Lions and Panthers, Rehab Care Athlone was represented by the Red Devils, Athlone Town and Green Dragons and the National Learning Network Athlone was represented by One Direction, Kiwis and the Wild Cats.

Third year students from the Community and Recreation course in A.I.T refereed each game ensuring no faults were made by competing teams. Each team showed great skill throughout their games guaranteeing the fight for the top position to continue to the end.

The final date for the last round has yet to be decided but is planned to be played in the next few weeks. Hopefully the title of the Midlands Boccia League will be coming back to Westmeath.
